My interest in Bert Theis starts in 2008 when I had the opportunity to meet him during a workshop in Bologna and I was impressed by the influence of art in public spaces and the concept of platforms. That’s why I decide to pay homage to his work reinterpreting two of his artworks trying to get them a new lease of life though contemporary technologies and new media and by creating a documentary exploring these concepts of his practice. Inspired by Venice rap, I search for numerous interviews of Bert Theis, and I took the most famous ones to extract his own words and build up a new artwork. Technically I detached the voice track from the music and I put together all the selected words into a new lyric. Then I use AI to sample the melody based on Bert Theis voice into a rap style, a music originally used to bring awareness into society of many significant cultural issues such Bert Theis did with his whole practice.
